Challenging opportunity for an experienced Ballistic Design Engineer with strong working knowledge of Composites to join well-respected defense engineering and manufacturing company.

***CANDIDATES PLEASE READ CAREFULLY***   To be considered for this role YOU MUST have experience with Ballistic Design and Composites in a defense survivability capacity.  Related and acceptable experience could include:  hard plate design, ballistic blast impact design, or head gear/ballistic helmet design.

This hands-on position includes the design, development and manufacture of composite structures as well as knowledge of the following: carbon fibers, aramid fibers, glass fibers, polymeric fibers, hybrids and resin systems.   Apply fundamental design principles and knowledge of composite materials and processes to the development of Personal Protective Equipment.

The successful candidate will possess a B.S. degree (M.S. is a plus) in Mechanical Engineering or related.

Required Skills and Experience:

No less than 3 years of process techniques including tolerance analyses, composite and composite structure design and modeling of hard armor systems.

Product design with full understanding of composite mechanics to be used for Personal Product Equipment and conduct and manage failure analyses of all products 

Perform with proficiency Working knowledge of CAD (SolidWorks preferred) and GD&T is desired
